Dr Colleta Gandidzanwa
Dr Colleta Gandidzanwa is a Project Manager at the ARUA Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems (ARUA-SFS) hosted at Future Africa at the University of Pretoria. She is an Agricultural Economist by training with extensive experience in managing collaborative projects in Africa These projects include ARUA-SFS; the Climate, Land, Agriculture, and Biodiversity (CLAB-Africa) Project; the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet-Africa); and Collaborative Centre on Economics of Agricultural research and development. Her research interests are in building food systems resilience in the context of climate change.
She has industry experience, having previously worked as an investment analyst. She has also been involved in teaching Agricultural Economics courses as well as supervision of several postgraduate students. Colleta has worked with government departments as well as parastatals in an inter-institutional team of scientists analysing farms forming part of the South African Department of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Developments’ Proactive Land Acquisition Strategy (PLAS).
