SRI Inkundla – Building Peace for Sustainability through Science
Join us for the second SRI Inkundla, Building Peace for Sustainability through Science and engage with two free virtual events held from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm SAST on March 28, 2022 (view your local time) and 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm SAST on March 31, 2022 (view your local time). Addressing critical questions around peace, science and sustainability, these events will bring together two different sets of academics and practitioners with both theoretical and lived experience in advancing peaceful dialogue through science.
SRI Inkundlas are a series of four interactive and inspirational events organised every month leading up to the 2022 Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI) Congress in Pretoria, South Africa from June 20-24, 2022. This second Inkundla explores pathways towards transformation of policies and practices that rely on collaborative, open dialogue, and an appreciation for all perspectives to find common solutions. It also discusses the important role the open science platform plays in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, and how science diplomacy can provide strong scientific and societal foundations for sustainability while playing a pivotal role in building collaborations and co-constructing lasting solutions. This SRI Inkundla is organized in collaboration with the International Science Council (ISC), together with Science in Exile (SIE), and Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS).
