Get to know the ECRLF Fellows: Dr. Alice Nabatanzi

Dr. Alice Nabatanzi was mentored into Natural Products Phytopharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals directly after high school and has continued on the same career path to where she is today. Dr. Nabatanzi came to know about the Future Africa’s Future Africa’s Early Career Research Leader Fellow (ECRLF) program as a cohort from a sister Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY) supported program, the Regional Initiative in Science and Education (RISE).

A passion to serve the nation

Dr. Nabatanzi would like to achieve as much growth as she can as an academic. She hopes that her research in pharmacology and Africa’s natural products will be vital in solving African health problems. As a post-doctoral fellow through the Future Africa’s ECRLF program, she would like to use her time on the program as a platform and space to further her research interests with the aim of finding solutions to African problems.

Her plan is to continue serving at the University she is currently employed in Uganda. She hopes that the knowledge that she has acquired will also help her serve her society better. Her advice to young people is that they must focus on their studies and prioritise on their Future.
