Institute for Food, Nutrition and Well-being

Background

The Institute for Food, Nutrition and Well-being is a flagship university-wide initiative that seeks to find solutions to hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in Africa. We do this through problem-based cutting-edge research that draws on the expertise and skill of over 85 researchers from across 35 academic disciplines at the University. We focus is on applying science to solving issues related to producing more food in sustainable ways, ensuring food safety, exploiting the health-promoting properties of foods to improve nutrition, influencing what people eat and investigating the impact of policies on food security.
